Bayern Munich clinches their 11th consecutive Bundesliga title as Dortmund stumbles in an exhilarating season finale.

After a dramatic final day, Bayern Munich wins the Bundesliga for the 11th time in a row, as Dortmund falters under duress and settles for a home draw with Mainz.

Dortmund and Bayern were separated by just two points going into Saturday's pivotal championship game. However, a dismal first half that saw Mainz take a dominating 2-0 lead and attacker Sebastian Haller miss a penalty left Edin Terzic's team in disbelief. Bayern finally won the game 2-2, claiming the championship with victory.

In the meantime, Bayern Munich traveled to Cologne and easily took the lead inside the opening ten minutes thanks to a goal from winger Kingsley Coman.

Dejan Ljubicic, a midfielder for Cologne, was awarded a late penalty, and it threatened to upend the title fight just as Dortmund was about to win it. However, Jamal Musiala of Bayern scored in the 89th minute to give his team a remarkable 2-1 triumph.

Niklas Sule's late goal helped Dortmund tie the game, but they were out of time to try and get the victor. Bayern won the 33rd German championship after the final whistle.

The German team has had a turbulent season, which was highlighted by a midseason managerial change. However, Bayern was able to extend their decade-long supremacy after the March arrival of Thomas Tuchel, who successfully led Bayern to another league victory.

The club's reign of supremacy appeared to be in danger in the second part of the season. On March 24, Bayern parted ways with manager Julian Nagelsmann, who was replaced by Tuchel. In addition to competing in the Champions League at the time, Bayern was embroiled in a tight title race with Dortmund and RB Leipzig. Tuchel was able to turn his full attention to the league when they exited the DFB-Pokal at the quarterfinal stage against Freiburg since their European campaign came to an end in the quarterfinals against Manchester City

Bayern suffered a number of losses off the field throughout the season, with the goalkeeper Manuel Neuer breaking his leg in a skiing accident in December, immediately after the World Cup. In addition, there were problems with Toni Tapalovic's resignation as goalkeeping coach in January. After their first-leg loss to City on April 11, star signing Sadio Mane and teammate Leroy Sane got into a fight, which caused Mane to miss a game in April.

Bayern experienced a few setbacks on the field as well. With a shocking 3-1 home loss to RB Leipzig in the season's last match, Tuchel's team dealt a serious setback to their title hopes, giving Dortmund a beneficial position with a two-point lead going into the final day.

However, Bayern pounced on the chance and won the title in the final minutes of the season as Dortmund faltered under pressure on Saturday, reiterating their dominance in German football.
