Bassett claims aliens have rendered human nuclear weapons ineffective with their sophisticated technology, but that this is more of a message than an actual threat. Reports from eyewitnesses attest to the aliens' competence in handling our nuclear weapons. Bassett claims these incidents are not hostile but rather an expression of the uselessness of such weaponry in the face of better technology from another world.
